Why home theater surround sound system not to push my speakers as loud as my old receiver?

I have a new installation 1.7 850 watts home theater receiver that comes with a real, but is not nearly as strong as generally why is that?

I had the same thing happens to me, the newer receivers are more significant for surround sound, well ... films. no music.
